Monthly Update #132 for the Office 365 for IT Pros eBook Available for Download
The Office 365 for IT Pros eBook team is happy to announce that monthly update #132 is available for download. Current subscribers can download the EPUB and PDF files from their Gumroad.com account or by using the download link in the receipt emailed after purchasing a subscription. For more information, see our FAQ. Our change log details the changes in this update. The Automating Microsoft 365 with PowerShell eBook is also updated to #24, including the paperback edition available from Amazon.com.
This is the last monthly update for the 2026 edition. As is our norm, every July we release a new edition where we make the big changes that wouldn’t normally be done in a monthly update. Subscriptions terminate upon the release of a new edition. We will be in contact with existing subscribers to let them know how to extend their subscriptions to cover the 2027 edition at a low cost.
For this month, we have dropped the price of the Office 365 for IT Pros (2026 edition) eBook to $35. This reflects the fact that no further monthly updates will be provided for the 2026 edition. The reduced price will allow people who buy a copy of Office 365 for IT Pros (2026 edition) in June 2026 to upgrade to the 2027 edition when it is available for approximately the same cost as a regular new subscription.
Changes in the 2027 Edition
The changes we plan for the 2027 edition include:
Renaming the main book from Office 365 for IT Pros to Microsoft 365 for IT Pros. We started this project as Office 365 for Exchange Professionals. That name reflected the focus of the book in 2015, and we changed to the current name in 2016 when we realized that we needed to cover SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams (2017), Planner, and so on. We could have changed the name to align with Microsoft 365 branding some years ago, but didn’t want to take on coverage of Windows desktop, which is part of Microsoft 365. In any case, we’re changing.
Adding a new chapter on Copilot and agent management. It’s obvious that Microsoft is focused on AI and that this is affecting how their products evolve. We already have a lot of Copilot coverage in the 2026 edition. The 2027 edition has a new chapter about Copilot and agents. We expect that this coverage will expand considerably over time.
Creating a new Purview eBook. Moving our PowerShell and Graph coverage into the separate Automating Microsoft 365 with PowerShell eBook has been very successful. The PowerShell book has grown to over 400 pages and is without doubt the most comprehensive coverage of PowerShell for Microsoft 365 available anywhere. We have taken four chapters from Office 365 for IT Pros to create the Microsoft Purview for Microsoft 365 Pros eBook. Subscribers to Microsoft 365 for IT Pros (2027 edition) will receive Microsoft Purview for Microsoft 365 Pros, just like they receive the PowerShell eBook.
Creating Microsoft Purview for Microsoft 365 Pros will make the main book smaller and easier to produce. We’ll use some of the space for the new AI content that we plan to add. Having a separate eBook dedicated to Purview will also allow us to expand coverage of the Purview solutions, something that is increasingly important in an era where agents can interact with Microsoft 365 content.
Creating a new Power Platform and Copilot Agents eBook
We’ve long included a Power Platform chapter in Office 365 for IT Pros. We have taken that chapter and used it as the basis for a new eBook covering development for the Power Platform and Copilot agents. This book will not cover development from the perspective of professional developers. Instead, it will give Microsoft 365 tenant administrators the knowledge they need about Power Platform and Copilot Agents to keep tenants secure and functional.
Like the Purview eBook, subscribers to Microsoft 365 for IT Pros (2027 edition) will have access to the Power Platform and Copilot Agents eBook.
The Microsoft 365 for IT Pros Bundle
Essentially, when you subscribe to Microsoft 365 for IT Pros (2027 edition), you’ll get four books in the bundle.
- Microsoft 365 for IT Pros (2027 edition) – what we call the “main book”.
- Automating Microsoft 365 with PowerShell (2027 edition).
- Microsoft Purview for Microsoft 365 Pros (2027 edition).
- Managing Power Platform and Copilot Agents (2027 edition).
We also plan to sell the PowerShell, Purview, and Power Platform eBooks separately.
On to the 2027 Edition
We plan to release Microsoft 365 for IT Pros (2027 edition) on July 1, 2026. The subscription to that edition will last until June 30, 2027. We deeply appreciate the support we receive from our subscribers and sponsor. Without that support, the project wouldn’t keep on evolving to track developments in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
